American Institute of Baking

The American Institute of Baking (AIB) is the premier bakery products association, encompassing all areas of the baking industry from production to marketing.  VdV has earned their top rating (out of five) of Superior.

Kosher

All Van de Vries’ spices, seeds and herbs are produced under strict rabbinical supervision and certified kosher by the Organized Kashruth  (OK) and Orthodox Union (OU) organizations.  Kosher products sold under VdV’s  ROSERED™ label are identified by the signature “Circle K.”   Kosher certification for a private label blend line is available for a nominal annual fee.

Government Regulation

As a licensed manufacturer of food products, the Van de Vries Spice Corporation facility is subject to regular inspections by the Food and Drug Administration, the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and other government regulators.  A satisfactory rating is required for continuance of our food manufacturing permit.

American Spice Trade Association

Imported spices are subject to cleanliness and essential oil testing based on the standards promulgated by the American Spice Trade Association (ASTA).  Only  imports of the highest quality will pass ASTA testing.  When our customers specify ASTA grade materials for their products, they are assured that all raw materials used in their production comply with ASTA test standards before VdV begins processing them.

Quality Assurance International

VdV’s commitment to the organic market is exemplified by its certification by Quality Assurance International (QAI).  VdV is authorized to by QAI to process and handle organic spices, seasonings, herbs, seeds, and dehydrated vegetables.  All organic products are processed in accordance with QAI's strict process standards and handling guidelines, enabling us to serve your organic product needs.
